I just wanted to tell you I got my 4th Kyu yesterday!
I'm so happy!!! Just one more exam to go and I get to wear a hakama YAY.
But really my sempai and sensei are so mean! I thought Sensei was just testing me to see if I was ready for a real exam and then he suddenly decided that it wasn't a test, but my real exam! I was so shocked XD
And one of my sempai's knew of this and brought beer to celebrate (I'm Dutch legal age to drink is 16!)
But anyway I felt like telling you ^-^

Well, I did my exam on July, but I'm still happy about it XD I'll have to make another test soon to get the certified title, but I'll only have to perform 3 techniques or so, it's nothing compared to my exam, where our teacher made us perform ALL the techniques we knew XD I haven't forgotten about to tell you that I passed, I was waiting until I had the title.
Maybe your teacher didn't tell you that it was the real exam because he thought that you would get nervous. I got REALLY nervous on my exam, I think that it was my worse performance ever XD But who cares, we did it, right?
I want to wear hakama, too!

Lol same for me, teusday I'll get my certificate and stamp in my Aikido passport. I'll be a 4th kyu'er officialy. I wanted to wait till then to tell you, but I couldn't XD I was too excited.
You're probably right about my teacher but really I wish he had told me, I would have done so much better! But whatever, It's al good.
All my classmates think those Hakama's look real badass (and they're all males as well)
Seriously, where are all the female Aikidoka's? Aikido is such a great sport for women!

Which reminds me I have too be able to do a free fall for 3rd kyu. I'm such a wuss I've always been too scared to even practice it! T_T

You're right, there are few female aikidokas. I've had 3 female classmates, a housewife which only came for two weeks, a girl who came for about a year but then she hurted her hand (not doing aikido XD) and when she got healed she couldn't came anymore because of her school timetable(but now we're friends and we train on a park sometimes XD), and the last one came for a month and didn't come back. Sometimes some girls looks at us while we're training on the dojo, but I think that they get scared when see how we fall onto the mat with that loud sound XD
I'm not sure if a free fall is what I think, something like a kotegaeshi jump but without anybody holding you, right? It's scary, indeed >.< I've neither tried it. Well, try to think that is just like a kotegaeshi, but with more impulse on the jump. If that's on the third, I'm so happy being just fifth right now XDD Don't worry, take it easy, everything is scary at the begining, but I'm sure that you can do it!! My sensei said me once: "Don`t ever give up before trying". You know how is this "training, training, and MOAR training" XD I have class tomorrow, I'll ask my sensei if he has any tip that can help. But I hope that he won't say then "ok, it's like this *jumps* now you!!" and me: "

It's just that my sensei didn't thought I was ready already and so it all came a little unexpected.
At another dojo, I'd be very scared as well! But you know hakama people are wise and stuff they should be nice! I'm positive!
Yeah you have exactly the right free fall in your mind XD
But it took me like ten lessons to even practice the regular forward fall. I was really scared and thought I was gonna mess up and just since a while I'm able to make a regular fall with both my left and right side. I used to be better on the right side...
Anyway I'm gonna work hard and practice and stuff.
So you keep training as well!
